O Financial Times mostrando o trabalho do Ministro Furlan que injetou energia no comércio exterior brasileiro.
In stark contrast to his predecessors - mostly career civil servants or diplomats - Mr Furlan has begun to cut red tape and personally to negotiate the removal of trade barriers and the opening of new markets. His efforts helped clinch deals, such as the sale of cosmetics to Russia and construction materials to Kuwait for the reconstruction of Iraq.
"I hate bureaucracy. I don't like sending letters, I believe in personal contact, the chemistry between people," Mr Furlan told the FT. In recent weeks he has circled the world several times accompanying exporters on trade missions and selling what he calls a "new corporate image of Brazil".
O jornal destaca que Furlan, antes considerado um "estrano no ninho" petista já está bem adaptado à equipe do Lula.
During his first days in office, Mr Furlan was unnerved by repeated calls from the president, who appeared to be checking up on him. During one of his first trips accompanying Mr Lula da Silva, Mr Furlan and other cabinet members were aghast when they were told they would have to pay their own hotel mini-bar bills.
But today, Mr Furlan says he feels at more at home. "I feel very comfortable and quite well adapted."
Gostei disso... nada de chocolates e bebidas de frigobar com o meu dinheiro...
